About This Scholarship

The College of Wooster offers Theater and Dance Scholarships to incoming students who have demonstrated exceptional ability and potential in theater or dance. These scholarships are designed to support students who are passionate about these art forms and wish to continue their artistic pursuits while pursuing a college degree.

The College of Wooster offers several Theater and Dance Scholarships, including the following:

The Garretson Memorial Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional ability and promise in theater. 

The Stephanie Piston Memorial Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional ability and promise in dance. 

The Christine Grossman Scholarship – This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional ability and promise in theater or dance. 

In addition to these scholarships, the College of Wooster also offers a variety of other opportunities for students who are interested in theater and dance. These include ensemble scholarships, summer theater and dance scholarships, and opportunities to participate in productions and performances both on and off campus.

Eligibility Criteria For College of Wooster Theater and Dance Scholarship

The College of Wooster Theater and Dance Scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year students who have demonstrated exceptional talent and achievement in theater and/or dance.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a high school senior who has applied for admission to The College of Wooster as a first-year student.
  • Demonstrate exceptional talent and achievement in theater and/or dance, as demonstrated through audition or portfolio submission. The specific requirements and guidelines for auditions and portfolio submissions may vary depending on the area of theater and/or dance.
  • Maintain active participation in theater and/or dance at The College of Wooster, including participation in productions, classes, and other related activities.
  • Show evidence of intellectual curiosity and a desire to engage in rigorous academic study.
