About This Scholarship

The Ford Opportunity Program (FOP) is a scholarship program offered by the Ford Motor Company Fund, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company. The program was established in 1983 and provides financial assistance to students who face significant barriers to higher education, including those who are first-generation college students, come from low-income households, or have disabilities.

The program provides financial assistance to eligible students to cover their tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses at select colleges and universities across the United States. In addition to financial assistance, the program also provides academic support, such as mentoring and tutoring, to help students succeed in their academic pursuits. The Ford Motor Company Fund has awarded over $30 million in scholarships to more than 10,000 students through the FOP program since its inception.
