About This Scholarship

A candidate for the Gabriela Blanco Scholarship for Siblings of Childhood Cancer Survivors must be the sibling of either a patient who has already been diagnosed with a childhood cancer and is undergoing treatment or of a patient who has already been diagnosed with a childhood cancer and has survived it. Sibling must reside in the same home as the child with cancer, especially while they are receiving treatment. Additionally eligible are siblings of children with cancer who did not make it through the diagnosis or treatment.Siblings of children with cancer are equally as vital as the patient, but because people usually concentrate on the sufferer, they are sometimes forgotten. This was never an option for the founder and president of Sofia’s Hope because her daughter Gabriela is just as significant as her sister Sofia.
