About This Scholarship

A scholarship bequest was created in 2008 as a tribute to Mrs. Wahneta T. Hinrichs’ husband Francis W. Cox and his father Lawrence W. Cox thanks to her generosity. One undergraduate student majoring in civil engineering may receive the Lawrence W. and Francis W. Cox Scholarship each year, which will be used to cover tuition and fees. The scholarship’s goal is to support a deserving student’s academic career in any area of civil engineering.

A student must be enrolled in and intend to continue in an undergraduate civil engineering or related programme that is ABET-accredited or similar to be eligible for the Lawrence W. and Francis W. Cox Scholarship. They also need to be a free member of the ASCE and in good standing.
