About This Scholarship

If you’re a high school senior about to graduate and interested in a career in government service, apply for the National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship opportunity is available for students who plan to pursue a degree at a college or university and wish to work in the local, state, or federal government. The scholarship is sponsored by the Washington Crossing Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of George Washington and promoting his leadership during the American Revolution. The scholarship recipients can receive between $500 and $5,000 to help pay for college expenses. Note that winners must attend the Scholarship Awards Ceremony held in Pennsylvania, but the foundation will cover the costs of transportation, food, and accommodation for the event. Suppose you wonder, ‘Who is eligible for the National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship Program?’. In that case, you might be surprised to learn that nearly any high school senior in the United States can apply.

Eligibility Criteria For National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship

  • Application:  To apply for the National Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship, submit an application form, a resume, and three letters of recommendation. The foundation awards around ten scholarships every year. Once you are awarded the scholarship, you must submit high school and college transcripts with your completed application forms. The foundation will also conduct a background check during the application process.
  • High school senior: You must be a high school senior graduating in 2015, 2016, or 2017. You must attend an accredited high school as well.

  • Purpose of the scholarship: You must be interested in pursuing a career in local, state, or federal government. The foundation will cover up to $5,000 per year of your education costs.
  • Scholarship Criteria: While the National Washington Crossing Foundation strives to provide financial support for deserving students, the foundation’s mission is not limited to providing money for college scholars. The scholarships also encourage young people to study history and inspire them with a sense of patriotism.
