Eligibility Criteria For NBCC Minority Fellowship Program for Mental Health Counselors (Doctoral)

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who identifies as a racial or ethnic minority.
  • Be enrolled in a CACREP-accredited doctoral program in counseling or a related field.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing culturally competent counseling services to underserved and minority populations.
  • Be in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress in their doctoral program.
  • Have completed at least one year of full-time coursework in their doctoral program.
  • Have completed at least one year of supervised counseling experience.

Applicants must also be able to commit to participating in all program activities and fulfilling all program requirements, including attending an orientation session and a summer training institute, completing a mental health-focused research project, and participating in monthly webinars and other professional development activities.
