About This Scholarship

The New York Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund Inc (GLEF) has given approximately $192,000 in fellowships to 167 NYS women since its formation in 1989 until 2022. One hundred and eight of them were pursuing a Master’s degree, while fifty-five were pursuing a PhD. They were enrolled in graduate programmes in 55 different, interdisciplinary subjects. Each year, fellowships are given to deserving women for graduate studies. The fellowships’ quantity and value change from year to year.

Women who are citizens of the United States and residents of New York State who wish to be considered for a New York Grace LeGendre Fellowship must also possess a Bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in an advanced graduate degree programme at an eligible New York university.
