The program is open to high school seniors or graduates who are under the age of 21 and have been homeless at some point during their K-12 education.

The scholarship is awarded by the SchoolHouse Connection, a national organization that advocates for the needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness. The program is intended to help address the unique challenges faced by homeless students in accessing and completing postsecondary education.

The SchoolHouse Connection Youth Scholarship Program offers up to ten scholarships each year, with a maximum award of $2,000 per student. The scholarships can be used to cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses associated with attending a college, university, or vocational school.
