About This Scholarship

Students can use the local government and planning expertise provided by the SCAG Scholarship Programme to create long-term career aspirations. Seven SCAG region high school or community college students will receive a $4,000 scholarship, a two-week internship with a regional planning agency or council of governments, and the chance to speak with elected officials and working planners about careers in public service.

The Metropolitan Planning Organisation (MPO) governing six of Southern California’s 10 counties, including Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura, is the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG). The San Diego Association of Governments, a separate organisation, serves as the MPO for San Diego County.
