About This Scholarship

The UM Morris Scholars Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship program offered by the University of Minnesota Morris (UM Morris), a public liberal arts college located in Morris, Minnesota, USA. It is designed to recognize and reward outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, and community involvement. The UM Morris Scholars Scholarship provides up to full tuition and fees, room and board, and a $4,000 study abroad stipend for up to four years of undergraduate study at UM Morris. Recipients also receive personalized mentoring from faculty and staff, as well as opportunities to participate in research projects, leadership development programs, and other co-curricular activities.

Eligibility Criteria For UM Morris Scholars Scholarship

The Morris Scholars Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship offered by the University of Minnesota Morris. The eligibility criteria for the Morris Scholars Scholarship are as follows:

  • U.S. Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • High School Graduation: Applicants must be high school seniors who will graduate before the scholarship begins.
  • Academic Achievement: Applicants must have a minimum ACT composite score of 28 or a minimum SAT score of 1310, and a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Leadership and Extracurricular Activities: Applicants must have demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to extracurricular activities.
  • Essay: Applicants must submit an essay describing their academic and personal goals.
  • Interview: Finalists will be invited to an on-campus interview.

The Morris Scholars Scholarship covers the full cost of tuition, fees, and room and board for four years of undergraduate study. In addition, Morris Scholars have access to a variety of enrichment opportunities, including study abroad programs, research opportunities, and leadership development programs.

 

The scholarship application includes academic transcripts, test scores, essays, and letters of recommendation. Applicants will be selected based on their academic achievement, leadership potential, and personal goals.
