About This Scholarship

Academic scholarships at the University of Minnesota are quite competitive. Based on an evaluation of the freshman entrance application as a whole, accepted freshmen are given consideration for these scholarships. Students who submit a complete freshmen application by the respective application deadline dates are granted full consideration for academic scholarships. By the end of March of their senior year, students who have received scholarships are notified.

Residents of North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin are eligible to apply for the Gopher State Scholarship at the University of Minnesota. For two years, the award will be worth $1,000 per year.
