About This Scholarship

Be aware that the Val & Julie Kostrzewa Memorial Scholarship is not renewable for the 2022–2023 academic year and that the money can only be used for room and board, tuition, books, and other course-related costs. Business leaders from Saginaw, Val and Julie Kostrzewa were the proprietors of Wright-K Technology Inc. and B & K Corporation. Six of the Kostrzewas’ children and their families remain, and they were Saginaw natives. The goal of this scholarship is to award scholarships to Carrollton High School student-athletes in accordance with their family’s wishes. Candidates must be seniors in high school, have a full-time enrolment plan for college or university, and show financial need.

Eligibility Criteria For Val and Julie Kostrzewa Scholarship

Here are some key factors to consider:

  • Academic Qualifications: You typically need to have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution. The minimum GPA requirement may vary, but most universities look for a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Standardized Tests: Many programs require you to take standardized tests such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for most graduate programs, or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) for business-related programs like MBA. Some programs may also require subject-specific tests like the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) for English language proficiency.
  • Language Proficiency: If English is not your first language, you will usually need to demonstrate English proficiency by providing scores from tests like the TOEFL or IELTS. Each university sets its own minimum score requirements, but a TOEFL score of around 80-100 or an IELTS score of 6.5-7.0 is typically required.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Most universities will require you to submit letters of recommendation from professors or professionals who can attest to your academic abilities and potential for success in the program.
