WSOS Baccalaureate Scholarship

The WSOS Baccalaureate Scholarship, offered by the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS), is designed to support low- and middle-income students in Washington State who are pursuing bachelor’s degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and health care fields. Here are the general eligibility criteria for the WSOS Baccalaureate Scholarship:

• Residency: Applicants must be Washington State residents, meaning they must have graduated from a Washington State high school or earned a GED (General Education Development) in Washington State.
• Financial need: The scholarship is primarily intended for students with significant financial need. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, which is assessed based on factors such as income, family size, and other financial circumstances.
• Intended field of study: Applicants must plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a STEM or health care field. Examples of eligible fields include but are not limited to engineering, computer science, nursing, biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
• Academic achievement: While there is no specific GPA requirement, applicants should have a strong academic record and demonstrate the potential to succeed in their chosen field of study.
• College admission: Applicants must be admitted or planning to enroll as full-time students at an eligible Washington State college or university. The list of eligible institutions can be found on the WSOS website.
