This program is available to undergraduate and graduate students studying one of the 21 approved STEM disciplines of SMART. The Department of Defense (DoD) funds the scholarship and provides educational and workforce opportunities to STEM students. The program aims to inspire, cultivate, and develop STEM students to pursue their future careers. Scholarship recipients will have their full tuition fees paid and receive a stipend of up to $38,000 annually and research internship opportunities. However, recipients must commit to post-graduation employment with the Department of Defense.
