About This Scholarship

The University Credit Union, a commercial cooperation with the mission of providing everyone in the University Community with the opportunity to improve their financial situation, is the organization that provides funding for the University Credit Union Scholarship. Scholarships for $5,000 are given out annually by the University Credit Union to three (3) members who are either currently enrolled in or have been accepted to a postsecondary school in California.  The University Credit Union’s primary purpose is to help members achieve financial success through wealth accumulation. To this end, the Credit Union offers members checking and savings accounts and free loans.

Eligibility Criteria For University Credit Union Scholarship

  • Membership requirement: To be eligible for the University Credit Union Scholarship, applicants must be members of the University Credit Union. Membership can be obtained by opening an account at the credit union.
  • Enrollment requirement: Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to a postsecondary institution located in California. This includes community colleges, four-year universities, and trade schools.
  • Academic achievement requirement: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Transcripts and other academic records may be required to verify academic achievement.
  • Application requirement: Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application form and any required supporting documents by the deadline. Only complete or complete applications will be considered.
  • Selection process: The scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in the community. A selection committee will review all applications and decide on the scholarship recipients.
  • Renewal requirement: The University Credit Union Scholarship is not automatically renewable. However, previous recipients may apply for the scholarship in subsequent years if they meet the eligibility requirements and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
