About This Scholarship

Iowa’s Best Award This award promotes diversity and is available to first-year students who are citizens or legal residents of the United States. Based on merit (standardised exam results and GPA), the prize is given. For entering first-year students who are not Iowans, the University of Iowa offers the Advantage Iowa Award. Students from historically underrepresented groups at the University of Iowa or participation in an Upward Bound programme are required to apply. These groups include Alaska Native, American Indian/Native American, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, and two or more underrepresented races. Another criterion is merit. Winners are required to enrol full-time and uphold a 2.0 minimum GPA.
