About This Scholarship

The Chao Family Foundation Scholarship Program is a scholarship initiative that provides financial assistance to high-achieving Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) students who have demonstrated leadership, community service, and financial need. This program is administered by the Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund, which is the nation’s largest non-profit organization that provides scholarships and support services to AAPI students.

The Chao Family Foundation Scholarship Program offers multiple scholarships of up to $5,000 each to eligible AAPI students who plan to enroll or are currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university in the United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need. Usually preference is given to students who are the first in their family to attend college.
