Eligibility Criteria For WAPA Scholarship Program

The Western Automotive Journalists (WAPA) Scholarship Program is a scholarship program that supports college and university students who are pursuing a career in automotive journalism or a related field. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • They must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
  • They must be pursuing a degree in automotive journalism, automotive technology, communications, or a related field.
  • They must have completed at least one semester of undergraduate coursework at the time of application.
  • They must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and they must demonstrate an interest and involvement in automotive journalism or a related field through participation in extracurricular activities, internships, or other experiences.
  • They must be able to attend the WAPA Media Days event in Northern California, where the scholarship winners will be announced.

In addition to these eligibility criteria, applicants may be required to submit transcripts, essays, letters of recommendation, and other supporting materials as part of the application process.
