The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), a community of physical therapists committed to promoting the physical therapy profession and enhancing public health, finances the APTA Minority Scholarship Award. This scholarship provides up to $5,000 annually to several minority students in their final year of a physical therapy program and postdoctoral physical therapy faculty members seeking to advance their degrees. APTA scholarship provides financial support for minority students and faculty pursuing advanced degrees in physical therapy. To be eligible for the APTA Minority Scholarship Award, applicants must have completed all coursework and clinical requirements for a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Students applying for the scholarship should plan to enter a residency program or apply to doctoral programs in physical therapy. Faculty should have earned their master’s degree and teach at the college level or above.
